History

The first T’ai Chi Chih Teacher Conference was held in 1985 on the Central California Coast at the Asilomar Conference Grounds. The Conference was born out of a growing desire within the T’ai Chi Chih Community for teachers to spend time with the originator, Justin Stone, and deepen their connection with him while continuing their study of T’ai Chi Chih. Over the years the event evolved into a forum for connecting with other T’ai Chi Chih teachers, exchanging teaching techniques, and exploring various aspects of the form itself to deepen our understanding and experience of this beneficial practice. The conferences fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among the teachers and are joyful events. During the covid years when we were not able to meet in person, conferences were moved to an online forum. Today, the Annual T’ai Chi Chih Teacher Conference stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of this moving meditation form and its ability to inspire and transform the lives of individuals.
