The mission of the Foundation is to support the growth of T’ai Chi Chih in the following ways:

  • Provide scholarship funds for teachers and students to further their growth and understanding of the T’ai Chi Chih form by attending Teacher Trainer-led Intensives, Teacher Accreditations, and Seijaku courses.
  • Support the yearly Teacher Conference
  • Sponsor events and projects that promote T’ai Chi Chih by offering grants each year for teacher projects.

Scholarships

The T’ai Chi Chih Foundation offers a variety of scholarships aimed at promoting the practice and study of T’ai Chi Chih. Scholarships provide financial assistance for teachers’ continuing education, attending trainer-led courses to deepen their study of T’ai Chi Chih, and attending the annual Teacher Conference. Scholarships are also available for individuals desiring to become teachers of T’ai Chi Chih to attend courses for accreditation. It is an investment in the future growth of T’ai Chi Chih to provide teachers with opportunities to enrich their skills, and to support students with a keen interest to take their practice to the level of teaching others.

Grants

The Foundation offers grants as a way of partnering with teachers to expand the awareness of T’ai Chi Chih into all communities and populations. These grants provide financial support for teacher’s projects and ideas that disseminate information about T’ai Chi Chih through demonstration, producing informational and teaching materials, and outreach by connecting with other professionals in the field of T’ai Chi and Qigong to bring these practices into the mainstream.

Foundation Board Trustees and Officers

The International T’ai Chi Chih Foundation Board meets twice a year to conduct business related to the annual T’ai Chi Chih Teacher Conference, scholarship funds and grants. Board Trustees are volunteers who are elected for 4-year terms and serve with without compensation. Officers are elected for 2-year terms.
